I was recently invited to visit Frantoio La Corte, a beautiful home and frantoio (olive press) just outside of Florence in Dicomano and near some of my favorite areas including Rufina, Borgo San Lorenzo and the Mugello. The scenery in this sliver of countryside is truly fantastic, and it's an easy drive from Florence. It's also home to a few of my personal favorite wineries and side-of-the-road trattorias (casual restaurants).
This gorgeous property is a great setting for groups who would like to do private dinners in the Tuscan hills, and once they add the pool, for an afternoon getaway. During the olive harvest, generally lasting a few weeks from September to October, we can arrange a private visit to witness the olive press in action and taste the oil fresh from the press. We can also organize a wine tasting to go with it.
Thanks so much to my new friends at Frantoio La Corte for having me out. Like it or not, you'll be seeing a lot more of me this summer!
