The Oltrarno (or other side of the Arno River), the Santo Spirito neighborhood in Florence is not only my where I lived for five years, but also my favorite food neighborhood in the city. One of my favorite little hole-in-the-wall spots is called Vinaino lo Sprone.
Riccardo and Piero are owners and also run this little vinaino in addition to a new little pizza joint just a few steps down the street towards Piazza della Passera. Both menus are simple, well-priced and good. Plus the teeny little cozy atmosphere is a great place to sit and relax – rainy days are my favorites here.
